In your recent full-coverage niqab tutorial video you mention you know a lot of niqabis. I think I may have mis-understood, but you seem to imply they may be Christian niqabis as well. If this is correct, where are they? I have been searching my entire life for fully-covered non-muslim women–and have failed miserably.
On another note, do you think you will start wearing niqab for real some day?

The best place to find them is on YouTube… there are not many of them but there are a few across the world. As for myself, no I cannot imagine wearing niquab. I have enormous respect for those who do, but I couldn’t do it myself. I mean, I prefer to never say never, but I’m pretty close to saying never about this.

Sorry, I realize I didn’t make myself clear–too tired when I wrote that or too distracted (since I was at work, and am again as I write this). I also realize I wrote this in the wrong place (as I don’t have your e-mail and don’t (and won’t) have a G+, FB, twitter, etc account), but since we’re already here…
When I said “full-coverd non-muslim woman”, I meant single ones (hopefully) looking for marriage: that’s what I’ve failed so badly to find. I’ve seen the handful of non-muslim hijabi videos doing niqab tutorials like yours over the years, and one or two true Christian niqabis (catholic, and don’t post anymore), but that’s it. The only other women I’ve talked to were certified insane and on drug, the latest one just trolling me. I’ve pretty much given up at this point, but then I thought I heard you say in your video there are lots of non-muslim niqabis, so here I am.
I’m open to any suggestions on where to look. Thank you again for replying to me here.

As far as I know, there are only a few christian niquabis who have an online presence. These are all married. I’m unaware of any unmarried christian niquabis unfortunately. HOWEVER there is an ASTRONOMICAL number of young, middle aged, and older single, eligible christian hair/head covering ladies all over the world. Just check Google lol 😉
I think that a good resource for you to find the sort of lady you’re seeking would be online dating. Often people of unusual religious lifestyles cannot find like minded people in their area so they turn to the Internet. I have a hunch plenty of young single “christian hijabis” would be easily found in the reputable online dating forums.

I’m happy to have stumbled across your blog today 🙂 I always hold great respect for Christian women who wear a hijab. I cover my hair sometimes, but even then it is never fully covered. I’ve read quite a bit about ‘Christian hijabs’, and how women who wear them are always mistaken for being Muslim. How do you find it? Blessings!

Hi there! Thank you very much! Yes I sometimes am mistaken for being Muslim but truthfully it matters very little to me. I just politely and concisely explain my hijab. Really the blessings of head covering overwhelmingly outweigh the trials 🙂 What is your reason for headcovering? I’m always curious about other ladies’ stories 😉

That seems like the right thing to do 🙂 Being offended by it would seem like a waste of energy, almost. Head covering is really something quite special! I find it strange how it can be that way, though, because it seems like such a simple thing to do!
Honestly, I cover my hair sometimes because I just feel… ‘better’ for it – more comfortable. I never have my hair fully down in public anymore, uncovered, as I hate it. And I feel closer to God when I do it, which can only be a good thing 🙂 Why do you cover your hair?

Absolutely it’s very special. I cover because of 1Corinthians 11. But even if I didn’t believe in it theologically I think I’d cover because I just feel right doing it you know? 🙂

Ah well yes, of course, the Bible does actually say women should cover their hair! But I know most people these days say a women’s hair is their covering. I’m not so sure about that myself. But yeah, I know exactly what you mean about it feeling ‘right’. Some things just do, don’t they? 🙂 And it also respectful, both to God and to yourself, and respect all round is very important. I’m curious to know: which denomination are you?

Exactly. To me, covering couldn’t be a clearer choice. I have been southern baptist but I’m in the process of finding a new church, for a load of reasons. Obviously the church I’ve been in up until now, the church I spent months covering in, didn’t teach this practice. 🙂

Ah okay, so I assume you are going to find a new church which teaches this practice? I don’t really know of many denominations that practise this, other than Catholic and ~Orthodox during worship. Although, in the UK, there is a Christian denomination called the Plymouth Brethren.. http://www.plymouthbrethrenchristianchurch.org/faqs/women-in-the-churchwhat-topic-2-question-2/ I’ve had a few dealings with the Brethren in my time, but I’ve never known one who doesn’t wear a headscarf out in public.
Anyway, I pray you have success in finding a new church where you feel truly at home 🙂

No actually I’m fine with not being in a church that teaches covering. Because so many headcovering groups (here in my area of TN, USA anyhow) border on cultish, or are quite exclusive and judgmental. So I just want a place where no one really cares that I cover. I would rather be like minded on salvation and not on covering than vice versa, you know? And I want diversity and an outgoing spirit in my congregation. So I’ll still be the only or nearly the only covered girl in my church probably 🙂 And thank you very much for the wishes… God is leading me :))) 💜

Ahh I see, I completely understand. I can imagine that is likely the case. It’s a shame, really, that those who cover often seem (or are) more cultish and judgemental. But you’re right in that it’s more important to be like-minded in salvation as opposed to details like covering. I sometimes see women cover in Anglican churches, though I sometimes wish it were a more common occurrence.

Absolutely I love it too! Indeed it is sad. As a full time covered girl (lol) I try to reinvent the image of religiously observant, and/or headcovering women. I agree the miracle of Divine appointments is a thing to behold 🙂 I have been blessed with friends truly all over the world. Yes, I do wear hijab =) (I had a feature on my blog called hijab fridays- I’ve let the feature slip a bit since I’ve gotten busy, but I still wear it every day!)I would love to hear your story about that as well! I think it is so great that you can just come out and stand up for what you believe like that, and I think seeing a Christian girl wearing hijab really makes people stop and think for a second, and helps them kind of get out of their stereotypes and promote understanding

Wow thank you sooooo much for your kind words!! There are a few Christians who headcover, but most only cover with a headband or somesuch. But there is a tinyyy minority of us who wear hijab.
